Now in its fith generation, and building on the strengths of the long-established Moisture Encounter meter (ME), the Tramex Moisture Encounter 5 (ME5) is a non-destructive moisture meter for detecting dampness in most commonly used building materials. As a wood moisture meter, the ME5 provides actual moisture readings expressed as a percentage H2O. The ME5 also functions as a dampness meter for plasterboard (drywall), plaster, roofing, tile and masonry to help determine moisture content in walls, ceilings, floors and joinery.
Built in Ireland, the ME5's unique three-electrode array provides both shallow (10 mm / 3/8") and deep (30 mm / 1¼") depth of field to help establish the depth of any moisture within building materials. In addition to the classic moving-coil display, readings may also be sent to the free Tramex App on paired Android and iOS devices. Pocket-sized and specifically designed for the Construction industry the Tramex ME5 is self-contained, easy to use and ready to go, needing no user calibration.
The Dual Depth feature of the ME5 dampness detector makes it possible to determine where the moisture is located within the material. The shallow-depth readings, up to 10mm (3/8”), and deep-depth readings, up to 30mm (1¼"), can be used to compare surface moisture and core moisture and eliminate the influence of the substrate when testing coverings.
The ME5 is a non-destructive moisture meter for wood and is calibrated to display actual moisture content percentage in % H2O without the need for sharp metal pins damaging the surface. The wood scale shows a 5-30% moisture content range. Wood adjustment tables are available for specific species of timber where necessary.
The ME5 detects elevated moisture levels within the most common building materials and is pre-calibrated to the various densities of materials such as platerboard (drywall), plaster, roofing, tile and masonry.
This general moisture meter detects moisture through paint, wallpaper, drywall, ceramic tiles, floor coverings, wood, ceiling tiles, roofing membranes, and asphalt composition roof tiles and makes it the best moisture meter for testing in, through and behind a wide range of building materials.
Moisture readings can be visualized with the Tramex Meters App and turned into moisture maps, reports and charts for sharing. Bluetooth connectivity to mobile devices also helps to GeoTag test results, create, save and share photos.
The ME5 moisture meter is the new and improved version of the well-established and trusted Moisture Encounter Plus - MEP - damp meter, which has been a favourite in the construction industry for many years.
The ME5 is supported by a range of handy accesssoreis to make your job safer and more efficient. These include an extension handle which increases reach by around 90 centimetres (3 feet), a calibrtaion check box and handy carrying bags. Please enquire for further information.
