The Skipper Plus meter is hard wearing and reliable, but the moving coil movement is quite delicate and easily damaged by dropping and other shocks. Thankfully the movement is quickly and easily replaced.
We recommend that the meter is returned to us for repair so that we can check calibration with the new movement fitted, but with care a DIY replacement is possible.
This part also fits the Tramex Moisture Encounter Plus (MEP) meters. Please enquire for movements for the older Skipper and Moisture Encounter meters.
If the needle is moving but seems to be stuck mid-range try placing a damp cloth over the face of the meter for a minute or two. Sometimes a static charge develops and attracts the needle
